Sterile Indirect Recessed

Sterile Indirect Recessed is a flush-mounted LED luminaire built for the hygiene-critical spaces of healthcare buildings. What sets the range apart is its sealing arrangement: 4 mm certified tempered glass over the light-emitting face and a thermoplastic elastomer seal between body and ceiling. Together these keep the luminaire closed to dust and particle transfer — in operating theatres and sterile production areas, the ceiling fitting stops being an opening through which airflow could carry particles.

The tempered glass also matters for cleaning. Ceiling surfaces in healthcare buildings are wiped down regularly with disinfectant; a glass face resists those chemicals better than a plastic diffuser and holds up against scratching.

The product is manufactured in two codes. PL12EA22L15C gives 26 W and 2,450 lm, and PL12EA22L25C 41 W and 3,665 lm. Both measure 616x616 mm at 85 mm high, weighing 8.5 and 8.6 kg. The indirect arrangement distributes light by reflection rather than sending it straight down, which keeps a patient lying in bed from looking into the source and adds comfort in ward rooms.

The body is electrostatically powder-coated sheet metal; the converter is a long-life, low-loss type compliant with ENEC standards. LED modules from LUMILEDS, OSRAM, NICHIA and SEOUL are rated at 60,000 hours. Suitable for patient rooms, operating theatres, consulting rooms, intensive care units, laboratories, sterile production areas and pharmaceutical plants.
